We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace — a place where we can each be ourselves and do the best work of our lives. At Tracksuit we consider a unique perspective, diverse experience and a growth mindset to be of greater value than ticking every box on a JD. If you think you have what it takes but don’t have the exact experience we’ve set out, please still get in touch and apply. We’d love to chat! 🙌

At Tracksuit we provide beautiful, radically affordable, always-on brand tracking which is easy to use compared to traditional methods. We recognise that sounds like a ton of buzzwords for marketers, so what it really means is that we did millions of surveys last month to find out what real humans think and feel about the world’s best brands and their competitors. Check us out here: www.gotracksuit.com 🚀.

Are you Tracksuit’s first Marketing Scientist?

We’re looking for a senior, strategic, and deeply curious Marketing Scientist to establish and lead Marketing Science at Tracksuit.

This is the first role of its kind at Tracksuit — which means you won’t just be stepping into a function, you’ll be defining it. You’ll be responsible for protecting and advancing the credibility of one of the world’s most valuable brand health datasets, ensuring everything we put into the market is grounded in rigorous methodology, clear thinking, and evidence — not opinion.

This is a role for someone who cares deeply about research integrity, but also understands how to translate complexity into clear, usable, and commercially impactful insights.

You’ll sit at the intersection of Product, Marketing, and GTM — acting as the internal authority on how we use data responsibly, and helping shape Tracksuit’s perspective on how brands actually grow over time.

The Important Bits:

This is a permanent, full-time role that can be based in either Sydney, AU or Auckland, NZ. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, Marketing and Strategic Partnerships, and play a key role in shaping how Tracksuit shows up in the market.

As the first role in Marketing Science, this opportunity is both strategic and foundational — you’ll define how we do this work, not just execute it.

Our work environment is collaborative, ambitious, and fast-moving, with a strong emphasis on ownership, clarity of thinking, and long-term impact.

As our Marketing Scientist, you will be responsible for:

  • Owning research rigour, methodology, and standards — defining and upholding clear standards for research quality, methodological integrity, and analytical consistency across Tracksuit. You’ll ensure that how we collect, analyse, interpret, and represent data is robust, repeatable, and defensible.
  • Protecting and evolving Tracksuit’s data credibility — ensuring our insights stand up to scrutiny from customers, partners, media, and industry experts. You’ll establish governance and guardrails for how insights are used, creating confidence that Tracksuit shows up with integrity, consistency, and trust.
  • Turning data into durable frameworks and intellectual property — translating large-scale brand health data into enduring models, frameworks, and points of view. You’ll help articulate Tracksuit’s unique perspective on how brands grow — grounded in evidence, not opinion — and ensure these ideas compound in value over time.
  • Enabling insight to be applied where it creates the most value — partnering with Product, Marketing and Strategic Partnerships to ensure insights are used appropriately and effectively. You’ll guide how research becomes storytelling, thought leadership, and customer-facing outputs, balancing scientific rigour with accessibility.
  • Building scalable ways of working for Marketing Science — creating repeatable processes, principles, and decision frameworks that allow Marketing Science to scale without compromising quality. You’ll raise the level of data literacy and research thinking across the organisation.

That’s the role — so who are you?

  • You bring deep expertise in research design, methodology, and statistical thinking, with a strong track record of applying this in commercial or applied settings.
  • You have a high bar for scientific rigour, credibility, and integrity — and you’re comfortable being the person who sets and defends that bar.
  • You think in systems — you understand how data, insight, product, and storytelling connect, and you design with that in mind.
  • You’re able to turn complex, messy data into clear, durable, and compelling points of view and can exercise strong judgement — you know what data can (and can’t) responsibly say, and you communicate that clearly.
  • You’re comfortable influencing across functions without formal authority, and guiding teams toward better decisions.
  • You’re a builder — excited by the opportunity to define a new function from the ground up and innately communicate clearly and confidently (translating technical thinking into language that resonates with a broad audience).
  • You balance depth with pragmatism — this isn’t academic research for its own sake, but work that creates real, long-term impact.
  • You’re curious, thoughtful, and motivated by raising the standard of thinking across an organisation.

What does success look like?

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • The consistency and quality of research methodologies across Tracksuit.
  • Strong internal and external confidence in Tracksuit’s data and insights.
  • Adoption of shared frameworks and standards for insight generation and storytelling.
  • The strength and credibility of Tracksuit’s thought leadership in brand growth.
  • Reduced risk and increased trust in how insights are used externally.
  • Effective and thoughtful use of AI to support Marketing Science — from pattern detection and synthesis to scalable analysis — without compromising rigour.
