About the team

The Global Governance Team is dedicated to establishing and maintaining robust governance frameworks that promote effective compliance and risk management across Stripe. We work with cross-functional partners globally to enhance oversight over critical issues, drive transparent decision-making and accountability, and foster a culture of integrity for the long-term success and sustainability of the company.

What you’ll do

As a Policy Governance Manager, you will build and implement a Global Policy Program for Stripe, ensuring policies are effectively developed, implemented, and maintained. Acting as a key partner for Policy Owners across the business, you will facilitate clear communication, consistent implementation, and continuous monitoring of policies across Stripe, in order to promote accountability and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update and maintain Stripe’s Policy on Policies and supplemental frameworks and procedures
  • Support the implementation of an enhanced Document Management System
  • Maintain Stripe’s Policy Library and proactively coordinate with stakeholders on schedule of policy updates and approvals
  • Formalize process for managing and tracking policy exceptions to provide consistency, mitigate risks, and ensure that exceptions are handled appropriately and in alignment with guidance
  • Oversee the process of post-approval communications; effectively and efficiently communicating policy changes, updates, and approvals to relevant stakeholders
  • Develop key performance indicators and conduct regular assessments of policy compliance, and report insights into policy implementation and adherence for management and Boards
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate the business about policy requirements, provide guidance on policy implementation, and raise awareness of the benefits and importance of policy compliance

Who you are

Minimum requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in policy development, governance, or compliance
  • Experience in developing governance processes from the ground up, demonstrating a strategic approach to policy implementation and management across diverse jurisdictions
  • Proficiency with document management systems to enhance and automate workflows
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders at all levels

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; an aptitude for communicating clearly and effectively to a wide array of audiences, including senior management, Committees, Boards

  • Highly effective organisational and project management skills, with a proven track record in meeting deadlines, performing under pressure, and advancing a number of projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements around governance, industry standards on policy management, corporate governance principles and practices

  • The horsepower to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and to balance multiple priorities and workstreams

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in fintech or another fast-growing global technology company
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is C$119,200 - C$178,800. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
