Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

As we continue to expand our product suite and global presence, we are looking for an insightful and analytical leader to be the financial and strategic partner to product teams focused on building Stripe’s growing suite of Payment products. This is an opportunity to contribute to the long-term growth potential of Stripe’s current Payment business and to help develop business cases for emerging payment products. Your work will be highly visible to Stripe leadership, and will drive key insights and decisions for product teams and executive discussions. The ideal candidate is a self starter, strategic thinking, excellent communicator, and thrives in a fast paced environment.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end strategic and financial planning processes for Payments products including business reviews, BOD materials, budgeting, and forecasting. You will help drive alignment with business leadership and improve processes to enable growth and scale.
  • Define & help deliver the strategy for our products with rigorous thinking and frameworks and answer key questions business leaders are wrestling with, including product/investment prioritization, GTM plans, pricing, features, commercialization, and partnerships where needed.
  • Develop and monitor critical success and business performance metrics, and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders (e.g., you identify and report on key performance indicators that capture the impact of a recent product change).
  • Provide analytical rigor and bring strategic leadership to operational initiatives (e.g., you quantify the size of an opportunity that would require cross-functional partnership to address, and effectively collaborate with key stakeholders).
  • Help build and develop a high caliber team of Finance & Strategy professionals.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience within FP&A strategic finance, ideally at a high-growth technology company or financial services company.
  • Existing experience with Payments highly preferred
  • People management experience and demonstrated success in building and leading high performing finance teams.
  • Experience partnering with Finance Data Product Managers to design best-in-class finance data systems
  • Strong knowledge of GSuite tools, Salesforce and MS-Office products and experience working with/analyzing contracts and large data sets using SQL.
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities and business acumen, with the ability to simplify and distill complex information in a rigorous but consumable way.
  • A proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with business partners; you are seen as a trusted and objective advisor.
  • An enthusiastic “roll up your sleeves” mentality to go deep into business analysis and understand details while managing Exec-level communication.
  • Adept at navigating ambiguity and thriving in unstructured, fast-paced environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $183,600 - $275,400. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
