About the team

Our Japan Marketing team’s mission is to engage priority audiences through impactful and relevant marketing campaigns and events, to drive growth in adoption of Stripe’s solution offerings. Japan Marketing is a sales-aligned team, partnering closely with the Japan GTM organization, including Sales, Sales Development, Solutions Architects, Partnerships, and others. Our team works across all customer segments, and at each stage of the customer lifecycle journey. As a member of the Japan team, this is a great opportunity to build and have an impact on the Japan business.

What you’ll do

You’ll be part of the Japan Marketing team and be able to craft our enterprise marketing strategy while developing a strong trusted relationship working hand-in-hand with sales teams to drive successful user outcomes. The Enterprise Marketing Manager - Japan will set and execute a field marketing strategy and lead field marketing programs that deliver high-quality leads, sales pipeline, and ultimately revenue. You will have an opportunity to shape the local Fin-tech market and elevate the local marketing team together with other marketing members at Stripe.

Responsibilities

  • Craft enterprise marketing strategy and execute field marketing programs across enterprise customer segments (established enterprises, digital native businesses, software platforms, ), with emphasis on the enterprise segment while solidly collaborating with Sales, SDRs, SAs and Professional services.
  • Own key business and revenue metrics across the sales funnel (pipeline) and customer growth and retention.
  • Lead local Customer Marketing programs, ranging from case study creation to customer speaking engagements.
  • Partner with Asia Pacific demand generation and product marketing to refine our targeting and segmentation, and to identify, scope, and produce or localize compelling content, marketing assets and programs to drive demand.
  • Define and execute full funnel Japan marketing plans including digital marketing, demand generation campaigns, sales prospecting programs and ABM, virtual and in-person field events, and third party tradeshows and conferences as well as amplifying Stripe brand with users’ voices though case study production.
  • Track, measure, and communicate program results, continually optimize for efficiency and scale, and seek to generate new global best practices through experimental efforts.
  • Be creative in finding new ways of advising a diverse range of enterprise personas about the value Stripe brings to businesses.

Who you are

Minimum requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant B2B marketing experience in the Japanese Enterprise Technology market across multiple customer segments including specific experience with localizing global content, event management, field marketing, Account-based marketing and multi-touch campaigns to generate demand.
  • Proven track record of defining and executing Japan B2B marketing strategies that deliver against funnel metrics and KPIs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (both Japanese and English), including being able to convey complex topics with simplicity.
  • Experience scaling through/and or leveraging agency and contractor resources.
  • Understanding and/or experience with CRM/Salesforce, account-based marketing, events marketing and email marketing tactics and technology

Preferred qualifications

  • A startup mentality with a bias to action and the ability to flex in a fast-paced industry and work environment.
  • Experience marketing B2B cloud services and/or software solutions.
  • Superb organization and project management skills and the capacity to manage multiple complex projects at once.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to craft actionable insights from complex data.
  • Resourceful, creative and dedicated to achieving operational and creative excellence.
  • Experience delivering tailored marketing content and experiences for customer segments spanning from early stage startups to the largest enterprise companies.
  • Understanding of the payments, financial technology, and/or ecommerce industries and partner ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated success delivering marketing programs with and through consulting and technology partners.
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is ¥11,608,200 - ¥17,412,400. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
